Babylon Kulturelles Übersetzungsbüro

Babylon Kulturelles Übersetzungsbüro is a performative installation which ran on the U8 line of the Berlin Underground between June 9th and 11th . 11 translators from across the word worked for the Babylon Kulturelles  Übersetzungsburo (Babylon Cultural Translation Agency) as agents, translating the announcements on the trains and stations into more than twenty different languages. There were Babylon Kulturelles  Übersetzungsburo stands at three stations, and a booklet was published and distributed, translating the german announcements of the underground.

This project was commissioned by the NGBK in association with the BVG as part of their “U-!0 – von hier aus ins Imaginare und weider zuruck” programme.
